Members of Parliament have suggested replacing the BBC's fee structure. They propose lowering costs and broadening financial support to cover areas beyond television. MPs also propose scrapping the BBC's charter review and preventing the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a important juncture. The recommendations come amid continuous debates about the broadcaster's long-term strategy.
